Sergio Sánchez Suárez

Sergio Sanchez is the co-founder and Director in Film Republic. While attending University he worked as an assistant director for many TV campaigns. He directed several short films, one of those, "Sucedio en la Frontera" was included in the official selection of the San Francisco Movie Festival in 2001. He has taken part in many different aspects of media and digital production and has worked as a plastic artist in multiple collectives, developing a profound interest in digital art and becoming a master of digital tools. He co-wrote, directed and edited "Barbados" a short film that was featured in many festivals; it was also part of the official selection for "Expresion en corto 2003" in the international Film Festival of Guanajuato. He was a professor in the College of Arts at the Nuevo Mundo University in Mexico City. In 2010 made his debut as film director in the Mexican drama Tequila. This film opened the Oaxaca International Film Festival.
