Teresa Cordts was born on November 27th in Cincinnati, Ohio. At the age of three, her family moved to the Detroit suburb of West Bloomfield, where she spent the remainder of her youth. From an early age, Teresa showed interest in the performing arts, acting out movies and commercials for her friends and family. In middle school and high school she showed off her talents by performing in plays and musicals. At sixteen, she decided to try modeling and was sent to do extra work on independent films. After her first day on set, Teresa caught the entertainment bug and began taking film classes at school. With all of her acting experience, she gravitated to the role of director, and discovered she had a natural gift for it. Deciding to pursue her directorial dreams, Teresa attended Columbia College Chicago. She made numerous films during her time there, but her biggest accomplishment was being chosen to direct Lemonomics, which was funded by the school as part of the prestigious Practicum program. After graduating from Columbia in the spring of 2010, Teresa moved to Los Angeles. After interning at several production companies, she realized she wanted to get back on set and started working as a Production Assistant. This led to her getting offers as an Assistant Director and Teresa decided to apply for the Directors Guild of America Trainee Program. After several attempts, she was accepted into the program in 2019 and graduated in 2022. Teresa worked as the on set 2nd 2nd AD for 9-1-1 and is looking to get more involved with the Directors Guild of America.
