Fran Visco, JD is a 20-year breast cancer survivor, the first president of NBCC, and a member of its Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Visco was a partner in a Philadelphia law firm before leaving law to focus on NBCC work. In 1993, President Clinton appointed her as one of three members of the President's Cancer Panel, and she was the first consumer to chair the Integration Panel of the DOD Breast Cancer Research Program. She co-chaired the National Cancer Policy Board. She has testified before Congressional committees and lectures throughout the United States and internationally on the politics of breast cancer, women's health advocacy issues and Breast Cancer Deadline 2020®. Fran Visco is a breast cancer survivor. She resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with her husband and sixteen-year-old son. Fran formed NBCC in May 1991, a grassroots advocacy organization of more than 600 member organizations and 70,000 individual members. Visco is an honors graduate of St. Joseph's University and of Villanova Law School where she was an editor of The Villanova Law Review and a chair of the Women's Law Caucus.
