Marti King Young

Marti is an award-winning writer/director and producer. Her western, White Talon City, about a female gunslinger who liberates abused women is in post-production. The Adventures of Wonderboy is traveling festivals and raking in awards globally. Created by a child on the autism spectrum, Marti uses the film as proof that inclusion is possible in the industry. She co-wrote and directed the movie. Her short film, STOLEN, traveled the overseas festival circuit and earned her a Best Director award at the Miami Beach Film Festival in 2018. Marti has served as producer's assistant on big budget features such as ANNABELLE COMES HOME (assistant to James Wan, Dave Newstadter, Victoria Palmeri) and AFTER. She was Ed Cathell's assistant on Genius: Aretha. She also worked as Michael Pendell's assistant on the short-lived ABC series Kevin (Probably) Saves The World starring Jason Ritter and Joanna Garcia Swisher. She was the Locations Coordinator on The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It, slated for release in 2021, starring Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga. Marti's screenwriting credits include the award winning Bound and Bagged, Bounty Momma, The Governor's Ball, The Adventures of Wonderboy (co-written with Elijah Haney), Strand of Pearls, and more. She polishes screenplays for LA producers in her spare time. She's been featured in the German publication Cinewomen for her contributions to women in film and was the 2015 recipient of the Women in Film and Television Finishing Grant. She serves as a screenplay judge for various festivals across the country and speaks at educational campuses about directing and screenwriting. Marti is also a proud member of the Alliance of Women Directors.
