Maribel Serrano is a filmmaker, actress and spokesperson for the U.S Latino community. She represents the close to 1 million young people raised in the United States without documentation known as "dreamers" under the DACA program. Maribel began acting at the age of 17 to "escape the tormenting reality of living undocumented and find freedom in art." In addition to acting, she is producing a documentary (My DACA Life) that depicts the reality that DACA recipients face in current times. The film follows her journey as she visits her birth-town for the first time in 25 years thanks to the DACA program and seeks the light at the end of the tunnel as she navigates the arduous political climate to become legalized in the United States.
