Tamal Sen

Tamal is an Indian screenwriter and director and an alumnus of the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute. He worked extensively in the advertising industry up until the end of 2016 and continues to do so occasionally now. Tamal ventured into professional screenwriting soon after and his first feature screenplay, The Gift, was selected in the 2016-17 NFDC Screenwriters Lab. The script was then taken to the NFDC Co-Production Market, where it also received 25% film funding. Tamal was the solo writer on Parambrata Chatterjee's Road Show Films' Kaali, which is streaming on Zee5. The show became the most-watched regional show on Zee5 at that time, and has been dubbed in multiple languages since. As a director, he has directed a heartwarming short film, Dui Shalik, which he shot on a tight budget and within 2 days. Most recently, Tamal wrote the Sakshi Tanwar-starrer Netflix Original Mai, which was produced by Clean Slate Filmz. He is currently working on the sequel of Mai for Netflix and for another extremely popular show for a leading Indian platform alongside developing multiple original ideas of his own.
