Affectionately named "Queen of the Twist," Vanessa Lynn is an Amazon bestselling writer and producer of a unique brand of suspenseful, dramatic, inspirational productions. This Detroit native has been around the arts her entire life. As a youth, her mother, a well-known Detroit music teacher, exposed her to such classics as "Annie" and "The Wiz" that made an indelible impression on the budding writer. Beginning in the early 2000s, Vanessa penned and self- financed several popular stage plays in the metro-Detroit area. Live recordings of "Unequally Yoked," "Affairs" and "Boss Lady," each garnered national distribution (2012-2013) which included space inside over 700 Walmart stores. Her suspenseful thriller "Deranged" toured select U.S. cities as well as Canada. Lending her creative abilities to the national touring show "Church Girl" as a contributing writer, this production was also distributed nationally and aired on the BET and Centric TV networks. Her sometimes up and down experience in theater lead Vanessa to start Urban Playwrights United in 2008, this organization is dedicated to educate other independent writers and entertainment professionals. Also a published author, "Beyond the Chitlin' Circuit, The Ultimate Urban Playwrights Guide" was released in 2013 and has been referred to as a "bible" for writers and producers. As the CEO of Parables Entertainment LLC, she also produces niche murder mystery events (Murder at Felicia and Kenny's Wedding, Murder at the Carver High 20 Year Reunion etc.) which consistently sell out. Wrapping production in late 2019, "Fakers" her first full length feature movie, a mystery/suspense, is set to debut in Spring of 2020. "The Ladybugs Jewel Hunters" a children's entertainment brand consisting of television series, music and strong social messages for youth, is set to fully launch in 2020 as well. Dedicated to education and training, Lynn has created a Detroit based series of classes for writers and entertainment professionals. With a career spanning nearly twenty years, this new decade is gearing up to be the busiest ever!
