Tyler Timberlin, first born son of David (Jr.) and Ellen Timberlin, took an interest in writing specifically for film at a very young age. This interest went largely un-nurtured in his life as Arizona was at the time of his youth primarily an industrial center and retirement destination where few if any saw a potential future in entertainment. As a result he was largely self-taught in the disciplines of film making and fancied himself part of the "video rental film student" movement counting Stanley Kubrick, Woody Allen, and Hideaki Anno as his primary influences while ensuring no one misunderstood this influence for comparison as he never felt his work never lived up to the sources of his inspiration. Tyler was known to be excessively critical of his work and only to show pride in some select early short film projects. This is likely at least partially attributable to his obsession with art as experimentation.
