Before moving to Southern California, David graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Media & Rhetorical Studies. He then worked for a prestigious management consulting firm in his hometown of Boston before moving to New Orleans to work as a consulting producer for local filmmakers trying to find financing for their small projects. In the Summer of 2008, David returned to his hometown to produce a documentary about offshore wind energy. At this time, he also reengaged his love for acting by training for The International Modeling and Talent Association's Los Angeles Competition. David won "Actor of the Year" for the 2009 event and segued this success into a multi-faceted career as an actor/producer by moving to Hollywood in 2010 to attend UCLA's Producers Program, a 15-student 2 year MFA program. Upon graduation, David founded his own production company, Worthy of Furie Productions, which is developing three films: a sports-related historical drama, an issue-specific comedy about affirmative action, and an action/crime thriller taking place on the famous island of Nantucket. Worthy of Furie is also involved in an NFL-focused podcast entitled "NFL Junkies" starring David as his alter ego, DeterMcBizness, and his classmate and friend of over 15 years, Alex Gilman. The podcast includes commentary on NFL players and teams, along with gambling advice and pop culture criticism. David also uses the podcast to promote his stand up, hosting, acting, and producing work.
