Jackson Kroopf is a filmmaker and educator from Los Angeles. His films involve auto-mythology, healing through creative expression, and radical approaches to collaboration. He works in both scripted and documentary, but usually somewhere in between. Jackson's short films have screened at BFI London Film Festival, Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, SFFILM Festival and over 50 other festivals worldwide, in addition to being a Vimeo Staff Pick, Short of the Week, on NOWNESS, and broadcast on PBS. Most recently, his short "motion portraits" was a Webby Award Finalist in Documentary Longform and his short "NASIR" won the Shorts Competition Grand Jury Prize at Doc NYC 2021 and appeared on the Short List at Doc NYC 2022. He is at work on his debut, hybrid feature "The Art of survival" as a current Sundance Humanities Sustainability Fellow, in addition to his debut fiction feature "soft boys" with support from the W.K. Rose Fellowship through Vassar College.
