Samantha Serrano was born in Manhattan, New York. She grew up singing and doing impersonations at a young age. She was a radio co-host for two and a half years, attending conventions and signing autographs and artwork. Whilst doing so, she simultaneously took acting courses and acted in independent films. She took acting, singing, and piano courses throughout her life at Universal Studios, as well as private lessons at home. A career in entertainment was not pursued in these early years because her mother wanted her to have a normal upbringing. Regardless of her mother's efforts, Samantha was often chosen to star in commercials, and print ads wherever she was spotted. She starred in school plays, and was in a local commercial for the Old Town theme park. She did print work for the YMCA and The Grand Hyatt, and was in both the commercial and brochure for The Holiday Inn as a child. Samantha chose to pursue her career at the age of eighteen after attending the Dr. Phillips Television Production Magnet Program during high school. This is where one of the program directors tried to convert her over to the Drama Magnet. She was raised by her single mother Susan Pistilli, who went to the original High School Of Performing Arts in the 1960's. Her mother raised her in Orlando, Florida for most of her life where an eight year old Samantha would steal her mother's reading glasses (the ones sported with a long beaded chain), put her hair in a bun, and would impersonate Michael Myer's "Coffee Talk" persona from Saturday Night Live while giving her mother pedicures.
