Medallion Quartet has been singing in and around Austin since 2001. They perform free of charge at many charity events, schools, nursing facilities and hospitals. They also keep busy providing paid entertainment for parties, weddings, sporting events and other gatherings. The Guys: The lead singer, Lon Badgett, is a retired Air Force Pilot who has dabbled in vocal music since his High School Days. The newest member of the group, bass singer Gary Bowie, began his a cappella singing career at Kansas State and may be the only remodeler in Austin with a Masters of Divinity degree. LeRoy Lawson, the baritone, is a professional photographer and retired Air Traffic Controller whose singing career spans seven decades. Bob Schneider, the tenor, is a manager with the Texas Department of Information Resources and was a barbershop singer in Maine for many years before moving to Texas in the 90's. The four singers are all members of the Barbershop Harmony Society, a non-profit group dedicated to preserving and promoting this unique American art form. Past Quartet members include Bill Buchholtz, Brian Graves, Jerry Sedatole, and Clay Pearce.
