Ebony Butler is a Melbourne based filmmaker and human rights activist with a passion for creating media that matters, educates and has the potential to inspire social and political change. She has been in the industry for over 10 years, graduating from SAE in 2007. After film school Ebony established a production company creating short form and corporate media but before long she found her way into the documentary landscape. In March 2016 Ebony completed her debut feature length documentary "A Brilliant Genocide'' about the untold stories of the war in northern Uganda, which she filmed across the globe between 2009 and 2014. In 2010 during a filming trip to Uganda, Ebony founded the internationally recognized not-for-profit organization, Bikes 4 Life, which provides vital transport to impoverished and war-ravaged communities in Uganda and beyond. The organization continues to support the victims of the war that she has been touched by, and has given much of her life to support. See more at www.abrilliantgenocide.com and www.bikes4life.com.au
