Stella Serefoglou was born in Crete. During her school years she was selected for the pre-vocational department of classical ballet school in Kalamata, directed by Vicky Marangopoulou. From 1990 to 1994 she collaborated with great choreographers and participated in dance plays by Zouzou Nikoloudi, Sophia Spyratou and Natassa Zouka a.o. Since then, dancing constitutes an integral part of her work. She studied marketing (BA/BSC) in London Metropolitan University in London while at the same time she took in theatre lessons in City Lit College. She was specialized in Drama in Education and uses her theatrical education as a basic tool in her collaboration with children. Returning to Greece, she studied cinema at Stavrakos Film School. She worked as an assistant director in commercials and television series and as a script in feature movies by Periklis Hoursoglou, Dimitris Indares, Yiannis Katsamboulas and George Oikonomou. From 2013 on she directs commercials for television. Some of them have been awarded prizes and distinctions in advertising festivals (Gold Ermis Award for the spot #eisaiDynami with Linda Kapetanea concerning public awareness on breast cancer, web spots for Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Social Solidarity a.o.). On the parallel, she directs theatrical plays. In December 2016, her proposal for the screenplay development of her first feature film was approved by Greek Film Center.
