Dan Rush

Dan Rush has been a key player in the fight for legalization, organization, and recognition of the cannabis industry, as well as a fighter for organization of the workers in this growing part of our national economy. In the original fight for legalization, California Proposition 19 in 2010, Dan was essential in bringing in organized labor to endorse the effort and take direct action on its behalf. In large part because of his efforts and connections, the effort soon took on help from the NAACP, SEIU, UFCW, the painters union, the longshoremen, and many other groups and organizations. With this momentum, the campaign took on new recognition, both statewide, nationwide, and even internationally. Dan continues to fight for the cannabis effort and the interests of its workers, serving as Director for UFCW's Cannabis Workers Rising. He has been a hero to many and is a fine example to all who wish to take up the fight.
