S.A. Bukhari

S.A. Bukhari was a film director of Pakistan.He was born in Lahore, Pakistan in 1936 and died in Lahore in 1996 after a professional career spanning almost 3 decades. He migrated from Bombay,India in 1955 to Lahore, Pakistan to pursue his career as a film director where he worked initially as an assistant film director with veteran film director M.A. Rasheed of film Patay Khan (1955) fame.Then,in the early 1960s,he started directing his own films.Before that, in Bollywood, he had gained some experience working with veteran Indian film director Mehboob Khan of film Andaz (1949) fame. In Pakistan, he directed many super-hit films both in Urdu language and in the Punjabi language.His real full name was Sajjad Ali Bukhari and he had deep interest in music from a young age.That's why most of his movies were musical super-hits.He used to try his hand at singing as a hobby at private parties with personal friends.People still fondly remember him for his successful movies that he left behind.
