J.M. Smith is an American actress, singer/songwriter, rapper, visual artist, and college graduate whose film debut was a starring role in the feature-length independent film "Operation: Get Rid of Pinky" (2011). Jay has appeared in multiple projects, including the short film "Party Smashers", a sitcom pilot entitled, "A Different Kind of Crazy", various commercials, PSAs, the 2013 & 2015 stage play The Lifestyle, and most recently another feature-length film coming soon entitled "Touched". Growing up in the Philadelphia area, Jay always possessed an extremely strong love of the creative and performing arts. Her artistic outlets, determination, and passion for success carried her through a tumultuous adolescence and allowed her to break free of the destructive lifestyle she had been a part of for so long. In her late teens, Jay appeared in commercials for local businesses and in a series of rap DVDs and mixtape compilations. She eventually went on to graduate Cum Laude from Temple University in 2009. During her time at TU, she took a short hiatus from the entertainment industry in order to deal with legal issues, focus on school, and meet her personal financial goals. Upon completing her degree, Jay has continued to act, create music and art, and collaborate with other visionaries on various projects and performances.
