Shaun Hughes

Shaun Hughes is an award winning Scottish filmmaker with an MA in Film Directing (awarded with distinction) from Screen Academy Scotland, and an MFA in Fine Art. His graduation film No More Shall We Part won a BAFTA New Talent award for Cinematography. Shaun's work has played in domestic and international film festivals including Tampere Film Festival, Edinburgh International Film Festival, Reykjavik International Film Festival, and Aesthetica Short Film Festival. He was an active participant in both Reykjavík and Edinburgh International Film Festival Talent Labs in 2015. Shaun was commissioned to make his short Bunny through SFTN's Scottish Shorts in 2018, with support from Creative Scotland and BFI. The same year he was selected for SFTN's Shorts to Features initiative, and was a participant in Stowe Story Labs' Narrative Lab 2018 and Writer's Retreat 2019. Bunny went on to win the Celtic Media Festival Torc Award for Best Short Drama in 2019. Shaun is developing his first feature film with support from SFTN, Creative Scotland and BFI.
