Anthony J. Piccione was born on December 31, 1992 in Rochester, New York, and raised in Connecticut. Known primarily for his work in the NYC independent theatre scene, his full-length play A Therapy Session with Myself premiered at the Hudson Guild Theatre in January 2019 before transferring to the Kraine Theater in May 2019 for an extended year-long run. Additionally, his one-act plays have been produced at The Tank, the Hudson Guild Theatre, and various other NYC theaters. His short drama about bullying and teen suicide What I Left Behind was named the NYWinterfest's Best Short Play of 2018, and he was also nominated for a 2018 Planet Award for Outstanding Playwriting for his experimental drama about political corruption and economic injustice 4 $tages, and his latest short film he wrote about PTSD entitled The Fire That Won't Stop was filmed in November 2020. He is also the host of the podcast Indie Art Today, is the founder and Artistic Director of the Talking It Out virtual play festival, and his work has also been commissioned by Sesame Workshop, Speaks Volumes Productions, and various other clients. He received his BA in Theatre from Eastern Connecticut State University and currently resides in New York City.
