Chaitra H.G. is a Hindusthani (Indian classical) and playback singer in southern India. Over 500 songs for Indian movies, 800+ Indian classical concerts, 500+ Indian film music concerts. Chaitra is widely recognized in southern India for her unconventional voice and style of singing. Chaitra holds a Bachelor of Engineering, specialized in Information Science and Engineering. She is skilled at Gymnastics and Fencing, at which she has been a state level champion for 3 years. She has represented Karnataka, at the national level, in more than 20 competitions and has won gold medals in both sports. In 1993, at the age of 8, she was given the opportunity to sing for the film Beda Krishna Ranginata under the music direction of Manohar Sri. V. Manohar, which marked the beginning of Chaitra's career as a playback singer. She leaped back into playback singing in the year 2003-04 for the film Bhagawan and, from then, has been known for her unique voice and pattern of singing. Her "Huduga Huduga" song from the Kannada language film Amruthadhare won her the state award as the Best playback singer in 2005.
