With over 270 TV & film credits and several development projects picked up to series, Gray Jones is a TV editor, produced writer, author and seminar leader located in LA. His extensive experience in many disciplines and genres gives him a unique blend of speed, story skills and graphics ability. He has a very interesting history: high school class president; released an album in 1990 and toured Canada with his rock band; was a Christian minister for 6 years; won awards internationally for a short film he produced and shot; released a software program that was featured in Macworld Magazine; and has worked in TV since 2001. Gray is a world renowned podcast producer and host. In January, 2008, he started "Chuck vs. the Podcast" for NBC's Chuck, which was voted the world's #1 TV-themed podcast for 40 consecutive months. He was featured on CNN and in the Toronto Star for the key role he played in the successful fan renewal campaigns. Over its 107 episode run, the podcast featured over 160 interviews with the cast, crew, and writers of the show. In 2010, Gray partnered with Script Magazine to launch the TV Writer Podcast, a video podcast dedicated to interviews with working writers. Since its launch in August, 2010, Gray has interviewed over 90 show creators, show runners, writers, and authors from Hollywood, Canada, and the UK. After moderating a panel called "How to Write a TV Pilot" at San Diego Comic-Con in 2014, Gray published his first book, "How To Break In To TV Writing: Insider Interviews." In 2015, Gray and his wife Sherrey Lee Jones launched a YouTube channel for kids, called ABC123Songs. In addition to producing and performing and all the music, as well as production, cinematography and directing for the green screen shoots, Gray does all the animation and editing. He also narrated dozens of Read Along Stories for the channel. Gray also created and maintains the TV Writer Twitter Database, the world's largest database of TV writers on Twitter, featuring contact information for over 1200 writers and TV writers rooms. In addition, he was a co-founder of the TV Writer Chat, a weekly Twitter chat group for television writing. In 2018, Gray launched drivingfootage, a website selling 9-angle driving plates for film & TV, shot with his custom-designed height adjustable driving plates rig. As of June, 2019, he has over 14,000 4K clips available for sale, and is shooting more all the time. He also rents a wide variety of production and post gear, specializing in micro four thirds cameras and vintage decks, through the ShareGrid sharing site. As evidenced by his podcast work, Gray loves to give back. He often volunteers his time for charity work, and educates via his seminars and webinars for Moviola Learning, BorisFX, and on his own YouTube channel. He has had guest appearances on several podcasts and radio & TV shows over the years, and has most recently been interviewed for an upcoming documentary on fan campaigns. Originally from Canada, he has an honors BFA in Screenwriting and Production from York University, where he graduated with distinction in 1994. Gray is proud to put family and spiritual values first, and strives always to produce material that will help people in some way.
