These University credits transferred within seven years towards his BA degree in English Education and Theater. Also, he portrayed several characters in a UWMC Upstage Theater production of "The Caucasian Chalk Circle" in November 1986. Valiant earned his B.A degree in English Education (Magna Cum Laude) at MSC in 1996. Valiant went on to Graduate School for a M.A in English Education at Bemidji State University but left after a year due to a "boring and repetitious curriculum". He continued his graduate work and earned two Doctorates, a Ph.D. and Ed.D. through an Independent Scholar's program through the University of Minnesota in 2002. Valiant decided to pursue careers as a Novel Writer, Actor, and Musician, and Real Estate Investor/Seminar Professor instead of a University Professor.
