Robert Michael Langille was born and raised in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, by his parents Robert S. and Patricia Langille, alongside his brother, Kevin. As a child, Rob had gravitated towards art and film with a keen interest. When not playing hockey, where he had won awards and was an accomplished minor league defenceman and team captain, he could be found stretched out in front of the television, drawing and watching simultaneously. As he grew older, he started to follow comic books, and focused his illustrating and style towards that genre. His artistic influences include the likes of, but are not limited to classical artists such as Leonardo DaVinci, Michelangelo, Pieter Brueghel (both), and modern fantasy/comic artists such as Luis Royo, Boris Vallejo, Frank Frazetta, Paolo Eleuteri Serpieri, Doug Sneyd, Art Adams, Todd McFarlane and Jim Lee. He is particularly fond of pin-up, and dark artworks. After numerous years working in factories, and after the birth of his son, Hunter William Robert Langille, produced live television, and operated cameras for live hockey games and sporting events. Rob has also videographed, acted, written, produced, directed, and edited award-winning films, including his own short, "A Long Walk Home (2010)". He has also toyed with photography and music. As owner of Synnister Art, and formerly a stakeholder in Synn Studios Inc., Rob has created numerous storyboards, conceptual designs, character sketches, costume designs, paintings and murals, sketched portraits, logos, websites, banners, posters, and digital works. He is currently (2010) shopping a children's illustration book, written by a friend, Andrew Stewart, and putting together numerous scripts for future projects. He is also an award-winning videographer, as well as having acted on camera, and been production assistant for an award-winning feature-length film, Four Aces (2009). Recently (2009), he was a co-founder of the Guelph Society of Comic Creators. He is married to a wife, Kathleen Marguerite (nee Buck), and has three children, Constance Illyana Poot-Langille, Ainsley Faythe Langille, and Hunter.
