Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Bruno S. Lyra only became professionally involved with film in recent years. Indeed, until mid-2016, he was a corporate tax lawyer, having become one of the youngest senior partners in the history of his 60+year firm. However, at age 32, Bruno decided to walk away from his successful legal career to pursue his lifelong passion for film. He immediately enrolled at the Toronto Film School, where he graduated first in his class and was chosen as Valedictorian for his campus (out of 200+ graduates). Since graduating, Bruno, who continues to live in Toronto, has served as producer/executive producer for several projects, including the multiple award-winning feature film The Sounding, the Canadian indie The Intersection, and a web series for the Globe & Mail. In addition to his producing efforts, Bruno is also a screenwriter and a Professor of Copyright/Contracts in Film and Film Financing.
