Steven Berkani

Steven Peter Berkani was born on September 3rd, 1991. He has been confined to a wheelchair since birth due to Cerebral Palsy. Even though Steven has definite limitations, they do not stop him from pursuing his dreams and goals. Steven has always had an interest in filmmaking. He enjoyed seeing how movies and TV shows were filmed and produced, thus spiking his curiosity in filmmaking. Despite his disability, which limits the use of his hands; he has taught himself and perfected his ability to use his computer, using his chin. That includes editing video projects with great skill and creativity. As a child, he always loved recording family members. His father helped him film by placing the video camera where it needed to be, so he could make some great family memories. At the age of 13, Steven taught himself how to operate his laptop independently, using his chin. Once he became proficient at operating his computer, he then taught himself video editing by the age the of 14. After graduating high school, he attended Daytona State College. Several years later he dedicated his time and efforts on learning more about film, video editing and producing. His work includes his sister's and brother's wedding videos. He also made memorial videos for each of his grand-parents. When his mother and father saw his work, they were surprised and amazed by his abilities. As time went on, Steven started to learn more about video editing. By the age of 16, he advanced his skills even further by teaching himself how to use a green screen. As he progressed, he taught himself how to design complex graphics for video. In addition to that, he learned how to design an interactive menu for a disk from scratch. Steven loves watching all types of television shows and a wide array of films, but he especially enjoys watching suspense thrillers and comedy films. As a TV and film producer, Steven wants to focus primarily on writing and producing dramatic projects, since he really enjoys telling heartfelt, meaningful stories.
