Michael Lafferty was born in May 1985, he attended Primary School in his home village of Clady, Co.Tyrone in Northern Ireland and attended High School in Strabane. After High School he attended the North West Institute of further and higher Education in Derry from 2004 to 2006 to study Media and Moving Image. There, he created a short film called 'The Vendetta'. Michael decided to enter his short student film into an American Film Festival called the New York International Film and Video Festival, with festivals taking place in both Los Angeles and New York in September and November of 2006. The film went on to win Best Action Genre and Best Thriller Genre at both events. Next, Michael decided to self fund his next project, a short film called End of the Line that was to be filmed entirely in Strabane in the Summer of 2008. The Film was completed in the Summer of 2009 with help of many of the local talented actors from Strabane and Derry and with the help of local film composer Ronan Doherty. The following March, the Film was entered into the NYIFVF in Los Angeles where Michael won Best International Screenplay in a short film award for End of the Line.
