Liliya Soldatenko

Liliya Soldatenko was born in Odessa, 28 October 1974, in an ordinary family like many others at that time. Father was a military servant and mother worked at the post office. In the childhood Liliya was passionate about riding, but later she began to dream of becoming a singer. At the same time, in Odessa film Studio was filmed the movie "The Day of Love". Liliya suddenly appeared in the underpass where were shooting the scene from the movie. There were guys that would go down the stairs and frighten all in its path. Suddenly behind Liliya heard a voice " - Would You like to take part in filming?". It was like electric shock! Episode, which stares Liliya became a great sign in her life! She will always remember the magical atmosphere of the shooting. Thereafter she finished high school and then got a standard college degree - Odessa National Academy of Food Technologies. Then, like all normal people Liliya married in first and gave birth to a daughter. Her marriage broke up very soon, and two years later Liliya was left without money and work with a small child on her hands. Unexpectedly she got a well-paid job and Liliya was allowed to buy a video camera. She filmed her own vision of all that happened and edited her shorts which are liked by all her family. At the same time Liliya met her second husband Alexander who completely supported her desire to progress and move in creative ways. In 2002, Liliya decided to realize her dream to be a singer. She recorded the song "Hello" in the studio "Komora" in Kiev and Peter Pinchuk shot a music video for this. The song played on TV for some time and it had no success, but during filming Liliya decided definitively that to be on the other side of the camera more interesting for her. In 2006 Liliya was lucky to complete a full course of Hollywood School led by great masters from Hollywood: Production course by Larry Costroff, Acting - Barry Primus, Film Director - famous Mark Travis. It was a powerful impetus to act and make movies in the future. Liliya went to Kiev National University of Culture and Arts to get the second education on a specialty Film Director. After a year of study she had returned to Odessa, because she had a boy at that time. Liliya couldn't remain long without children who had to stay in Odessa. In 2007, Lily has finished 8-month course of video editing in the Odessa Film Studio. There she met a famous film editor of the Odessa Film Studio - Irina Blogherman. They still working in the new projects and Irina gives valuable advice and reveals the secrets of a great movie. Later Liliya entered the directing course for film director and screenwriter Yuri Sadomsky. Although movie for children is unpopular and non-commercial he has also supported her desire to remove it. Liliya filmed "The Friend" - her own first short film on this course and began working on the script for his dream - children's tales. She feels the need to make her own studio for production of children's and music movies. Liliya took her pseudonym which she sang in the music video to give a name for the studio - Carrot Cake. For Lily it was very valuable, because the name advised her Mark Travis - Director and teacher, who became a friend. During Travis' practice training at the lunch, Liliya complained that she still doesn't have a pseudonym because it to release the music video. Then Mark Travis asked: "-What do you feel inside yourself?". Looking at the menu Liliya said: "It's carrot cake! You can see how many ingredients and how delicious!". Mark Travis said: " - What's the problem? You are Carrot cake!" In 2009, Liliya gave birth to a boy. So only in 2010 - 2011 starts preparatory period for the shooting of the film "The Fairy Stories. Essence of Care" by Vladimir Goryansky in the main. This is the first feature film by Liliya she put her heart and soul not only money. She gathered a team of young professionals who were eager to work in a children's movie. More than 20 years in the studios hadn't filmed children's and feature films thus attempts to avoid errors screwed up. Lily acted as the scriptwriter and Director of tales. Unfortunately the movie was filmed without governmental support. Obviously the government wasn't interested in independent studios and projects on this point. Therefore, the film was released in 2013. Movie "The Fairy Stories. Essence of Care" got a lot of awards at various festivals. In the Ukrainian released in early 2015. It was the second place in Ukraine Box Office among Ukrainian films, but the money doesn't exceed the cost of production. Only the energy and courage of the producer of the film Alexander Leidner gave an opportunity to promote films for children. In 2013, Liliya wrote the script for the second part of the tales "The Fairy stories" - "Forest Wizards". Shooting was begun on a very expensive Alex's video equipment at that time, but due to the difficult situation in the country production of the tales was stopped. From the Liliya's creative crisis brought her middle son, Michael, he gave the idea to make an easy movie for teenagers 10-14 years with humor and adventure. So in 2014 began work on a new bright adventure film project with elements of fantasy "Lesson of Magic" The philosophy of all movies and projects Carot Cake Studio is a little trivial - "Good always wins!". The same applies to the new picture. As always in the shooting starring many talented children and youth, extraordinary actors and beauties. Certainly not without animals and birds. The shooting of the film "Lesson of Magic" took place in 2015. The hard work on the special effects and post-production is continuing now. It will be the first local movie in 4K.
