Doug Walker is a musician from England who has also worked extensively as a voiceover artist as well as an actor in both Television and Theatre. He's primarily a singer-songwriter- writing songs on the piano and performing either solo or with backing band, but he has also worked regularly as a session singer since his first studio session aged 16. After signing a record deal with Warner Bros Records in 2007 he released his self-produced single The Mystery which enjoyed UK national airplay on BBC's Radio 1, Radio 2 and 6Music, reaching #36 in the Official UK Chart on March 15th 2008. Walker toured the UK supporting artists as varied as Craig David and Sex Pistols and playing live radio sessions for Dermot O'Leary on BBC Radio 2 and for Stephen Merchant for his BBC 6Music radio show. His debut album was produced in London by Danton Supple (Coldplay) and mixed in New York by multi Grammy Award winning Michael Brauer but was never released after Walker was dropped from the label in the midst of the 2008/09 financial crash. His music has however since appeared in numerous TV shows around the world from The Oprah Winfrey Show (1986) and Plain Jane (2010) in the U.S to British institutions like soap opera EastEnders (1985) and kids' show Blue Peter (1958) Born in Chertsey, Surrey, UK, he started out working in Musical Theatre in 1993 when he was selected to join the National Youth Music Theatre (GB) and appear in their original production of Whistle Down The Wind at the Edinburgh Festival and subsequently at The West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds, UK. Walker then toured the UK and Europe for 3 years with a Theatre in Education team appearing in various projects including fronting a pop covers band and blasting out the full version of Queen's epic Bohemian Rhapsody at 9am in High School assemblies to dumbfounded teachers and thrilled students. In 1997 he moved into Europe's largest Council housing estate in Manchester, England to work as a youth worker for a number of years, during which time he started working as a TV and film Extra/ background artist in the North West of England to pay the bills while doing youth work voluntarily. He mainly filmed at studios and on location in Manchester and Liverpool appearing in classic UK TV shows including Life on Mars (2006), Cold Feet (1997) and Coronation Street (1960) as well as in numerous national TV commercials- successfully auditioning to be featured in commercials for clients including Budweiser. He also had small speaking roles in shows including Grange Hill (1978) and Hollyoaks (1995) and appeared in the 2004 Paramount Pictures remake of Alfie (2004) starring Jude Law . In this period he was busy writing songs that he would perform himself at small gigs in Manchester and London while trying to get a record deal as well as writing songs for other acts. It was also during this time that he began working as a Voiceover Artist, doing post production ADR Voice work on shows including Cold Feet (1997) and Always and Everyone (1999) and voicing numerous local and national radio and TV commercials as well as corporate and online videos. Walker has recently co-written the Theme Song for Nick Jr's Digby Dragon (2016) which had the top weekly premier viewing figures of all time for a Nick Jr. UK show and continues to be the most watched daytime show on the channel. Digby Dragon (2016) is about to launch in 15 other territories including the U.S and Latin America. He's also the co-writer and singer of the theme song for Mac and Izzy, a brand new animated kids' show launched exclusively on the Curious World YouTube channel in November 2016 and featured on the YouTube Kids App.
