Sara Benz was born on 25 August 1992 in Zürich, Switzerland. She is a professional ice hockey player, who plays forward and shoots left. Benz is the sister and teammate of Laura Benz. Benz's career began in 2008. She made three appearances for the Switzerland women's national under-18 ice hockey team, at two levels of the IIHF World Women's U18 Championships. Sara Benz has also represented her homeland at four IIHF Women's World Championships. Her first appearance was in 2009. She was a member of winning team that got the bronze at the 2012 Championships. Benz got picked for the Switzerland national women's ice hockey team in the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. She played in all five games and scored a goal. Although Switzerland didn't win a medal, that changed 4 years later. In 2014 at the Olympics in Sochi, Russia, Sara Benz helped the team to win the bronze medal. She shared that happy moment alongside her sister and teammate Laura Benz.
