In addition to his acting in "Fauda," Idan is a very talented musician and songwriter, having auditioned on "Kochav Nolad" ("A Star is Born") in 2010 while still in his compulsory military service and although he did not win that competition, his appearance gave his career a major boost. He ends his live concerts with songs sung in Kurdish, his family having emigrated to Israel from Kurdistan several years ago.
