Sprinter and hurdler Lawrence Gerard "Larry" O'Connor was born on September 22, 1916 in Cobourg, Ontario, Canada. O'Connor represented Canada in the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, Germany where he placed sixth in the men's 110m hurdles. Moreover, Larry was a member of the relay team that won the gold medal in the 4x110 yard event at the 1938 British Empire Games as well as won the silver medal in the 120 yards hurdles and finished fourth in the 220 yards contest at the 1938 British Empire Games. O'Connor died at age 78 on September 6, 1995.
