Pam Sporn is a Bronx-based documentary filmmaker and educator. Her work interweaves historical narratives and personal storytelling. Her films have screened at many venues and festivals including the Anthology Film Archives, The Havana Film Festival, The Chicago International Latino Film Festival, The London International Documentary Film Festival. Sporn's current project is "Detroit 48202: Conversations Along A Postal Route," a look at history and change in Detroit through the eyes of a postal carrier. Her prior work includes "Cuban Roots/ Bronx Stories" and "With a Stroke of the Chaveta." As an educator, Pam spent 28 teaching history and social issue documentary video production in public high schools in NYC. Pam has received awards and funding from Latino Public Broadcasting, New York State Council on the Arts, the Center for Puerto Rican Studies at Hunter College, and the Bronx Council on the Arts. She has an MFA in Integrated Media Arts from Hunter College, and has taught at Ramapo College of New Jersey.
