Melissa Munn Hensley

Melissa Munn Hensley is the Assistant Producer, Media Relations, and Promotions Specialist for the television series "Cycles." She has also recently become the series' Casting Coordinator for open roles posted to IMDb and Backstage.com. She screens and auditions new talent for possible roles with "Cycles." Hensley says public relations is in her blood and that she cut her teeth on journalism and crisis media. While Hensley was growing up, her father, Hugh, served for over 20 years as the first Public Information Officer for the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED). He covered many high profile criminal cases such as Susan Smith, Larry Gene Bell and Pee Wee Gaskins. Previously, Hensley's father worked as journalist for The State Newspaper and as an on-air radio personality at WNOK FM radio before seguing into law enforcement and media relations. After his retirement from SLED, Hugh would go on to pursue a second career as an adjunct journalism and crisis media professor at the University of South Carolina. Melissa appears to be following in her beloved father's footsteps. Hensley began her career working for the same newspaper as her father, The State Newspaper in Columbia, South Carolina, before accepting a position as the first Public Information Officer of the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy, the state's main, centralized police academy. And like her father, Hensley also joined the University of South Carolina as a staff member of the Arnold School of Public Health's Office of Development and Alumni Relations. Hensley is also a freelance media relations representative and has provided public relations for many local and national businesses such as Baskin Robbins (Forest Acres, SC), the local Columbia Team In Training chapter of the Leukemia Society, the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, Elite Dance Academy, numerous animal shelters and nonprofit organizations, just to name a few. She enjoys helping those who can't afford a public relations team and has made it her mission to provide the publicity and respect these individuals and groups so greatly deserve. Melissa is excited and honored to now be a part of the "Cycles" cast and crew as the Media Relations and Promotions Specialist. She's looking forward to amazing things from the show!
