Born in Birmingham in 1971 to Margaret and David Morby, he attended King Edwards VI Five Ways Grammar School for Boys before falling into a summer job as a Stockbroker for 7 years when he moved into the IT industry, first as an experiment in 1992 as part of Demon Internet, bringing the Internet to the UK, and then delivering online share trading services in 1999 in Hong Kong, South Africa and London; all a far cry from Jon's passion of film making. Over the years Jon has made several short documentaries, including a number supporting local fringe theatres both in and around London. Jon started his own ISP in 2001 which he sold in 2019, in order to have more time to work on making films. Somewhat of a late starter, Jon joined the Raindance HND course in 2017 at the age of 46 and had his first film completed just before his 47th birthday. Having been instrumental in the Internet Industry, being part of the team which brought the Internet to the UK in 1992, Jon has always had a flair for the technical side, which has meant his creative side was stifled for many years. Jon has always loved film, having made his first film at the age of 8 years (based on Robinson Crusoe), and after many distractions finally took the leap to become a full-time filmmaker and fulfil a lifelong dream in 2017, proving you're never too old to change careers and follow your heart! Jon graduated from the Raindance Film School HND Programme in 2019
