Anetria Cole was born December 4th 1972 in Pontiac, Michigan. She began writing at an early age creating fictional stories and sharing them with family and friends. By middle school she was introduced to drama and her love for acting and writing soared. But when she entered college at Oakland University and was introduced to the works of playwrights Lorraine Hansberry and August Wilson she knew she had indeed found her niche and purpose in life: playwriting. After the graduation of high school Anetria attended Oakland University in Rochester Hills, majoring in Theatre. One of Anetria's most memorable college courses while attending Oakland University was Advanced Playwriting which was taught by her now good friend and mentor Kitty Dubin. Kitty has been instrumental with the development of Anetria's writing career. Since Anetria attained her Bachelor's degree in 2009 she has written numerous plays and books that have gained recognition and won awards throughout Michigan, North Carolina, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. Anetria most recently won the WDIV Channel 4 Detroit, People's Choice Film Challenge Award in October 2017 for her T.V. series Street Numbers & Street Sweepers. Anetria is currently in the production phase for Street Numbers & Street Sweepers with the goal of securing a slot on a major television network and transitioning to become a full time writer/producer. Anetria is also preparing to do a stage play for one of her prized and awarding winning pieces called, Bronzeville Gold which is set to be showcased in the winter of 2018 in Detroit, Michigan.
