Emily Johnson

Emily Marie Johnson was born in a small suburb of Chicago where she has lived her entire life. Her academic life has been very important to her. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from North Central College with a BA. She was presented the opportunity to write Blood and Water in 2013 and from there she discovered her love for being behind the camera as well. In addition to film, Emily spent a great deal of time in the theatre throughout her education. She worked as the Sound Designer for productions of Jesus Christ Superstar, and Peter Pan for a local theatre group in Naperville. While attending college she double majored in English with a Writing emphasis, and Interactive Media with a Convergent Media emphasis. Through these 2 majors she has gained experience as a classical writer, knowledge of literary theory, and even experience writing in more unique forms like multi-modal projects, and flash fiction. After graduation Emily decided upon a more non-traditional path into the industry. She participated in a program through The Film Connection which allowed her to intern for a production company in Chicago where she gained a variety of experiences consulting on scripts, editing content, and being on set all the while working on her first feature film script. She received a Bachelors Certification in Screenwriting, Directing, and Producing. Emily has branched out and started Write On Consulting as a full-service consulting, editing, and rewriting venture while she continues building her feature film, and television portfolio.
