Born in Long Island, New York, Roberto Vargas is an independent film maker now based in Orlando, Florida. Before working in film, Roberto worked as a professional wrestler after being trained in Kissimmee, FL at the Team 3D Academy by WWE Hall of Famers, The Dudley Boyz. After a couple of years in the business, he felt his heart lead him to his original inspiration since he was six years old, film. A graduate of the Valencia Film Program, he was trained in below the line work, gravitating towards grip and the sound department, getting a better understanding on how these departments work. Working on such films as 'I Tried to Give Up', 'Courage to Stand', 'The Season', 'Star Trek: First Frontier' along with multiple music videos. Using his knowledge in these fields, Roberto's ultimate goal is to direct and write. Making short skits with friends in the past, he made his official first short in 2017 with the horror film, 'The Donation', about an Uber ride gone wrong where the driver is lured to become a sacrifice for a waiting cult. It was released online and at Valencia's film celebration in 2018 the following year. His second short went into production that summer with the professional wrestling sports drama, 'Over', based on his own real life events during his time as a wrestler in training. 'Over' was released on Amazon Prime direct video on April 1st, 2019. While Roberto has more scripts ready to film, he is hoping to transition 'Over' into either a full length feature film or series.
