Shevrado Oliver

The eldest of two children Shevrado OIiver was born and raised in the parish of St. Ann,Jamaica.His Father Hidalgo hails from the parish St. Mary and worked at Highgate Foods as a machine operator in his youth; his mother, Philippa is from Kingston and is a seamstress and craftswoman. A product of an artistic family Shevrado displayed an interest in acting at a very early age, participating in church plays at age 4 along with group and solo recitals. Shevrado attended Ferncourt High School and was consistently involved in the Theatric Arts, performing in the national Speech and Drama festivals and winning numerous awards for group and solo efforts. It was during this time that he developed on another of his talents, the art of writing as he penned numerous poems including one he performed to serenade Olympian Novelene Williams Mills after her return from the games.He gained a place in the Arts and Social Science program at the Brown's Town Community College however after completing his associates degree, failed to continue to university due to lack of resources.To support himself and his family between acting roles, he worked as a photographer, tour guide and journalist at a local newspaper company, He then worked as a manager for a small photography company in his early-twenties. His first commercial acting role was in a film called Cherished Moments in a supporting role. His professional acting career has seen him working with some of Jamaica's biggest names in commercial theatre and film. From the likes of veteran and award winning director Douglas Prout, multiple award winning director and playwright David Tulloch to name a few. Shevrado has been a part of the award winning cast of David Tulloch's Jamaica Sweet which won the award for best revue at the 2017 Actor Boy awards while Marriage Bizniz directed by Douglas Prout was nominated in the category for best comedy. Known to employ both the Meisner and Strasberg methods as well various other techniques, Shevrado believes that he should aim to be the best version of himself as he looks to constantly improve on his many talents and do good work. With a bright future ahead, his aim is to continue to grow as an actor and to take on more roles that will challenge his range.
