After living about thirteen years in Paraguay, and retiring from his State Department job, his father moved the family to his Father's birthplace in Southern Colorado USA when Francisco was about seven years old in 1973. Francisco attended Centennial elementary School in San Luis Colorado, junior high, high school, and Adam's State University in Alamosa Colorado. He graduated from Adams State University with a BA in Biology. He earned an ROTC (Reserve Office Training Corps) commission in the Army, and he was commissioned as a second Lieutenant in the Field Artillery from the University of Southern Colorado, now known as Colorado State University in 1988. He attended Officer Basic Course in Fort Sill, Oklahoma and received an honorable discharge in 1990. He married in 1991. Francisco has four children from the marriage. He moved to Erie, Colorado a small town north of Denver, Colorado where he lived with his wife and children and with the help of his mother and father, and his brother, he opened a small successful family restaurant in 1992 in Erie Colorado. During this time, Francisco and his brother decided to enter the construction industry so, after about a year of classes in the construction trades at a local community college they closed the restaurant and began a home contracting business. They built single-family homes and presold every home that they built. Good timing helped their construction business and they found there was a big demand for single-family homes so, they invested in real estate then developed the land. From 1993 to 1998 they built over one hundred homes. Next they diversified into concrete ready mix and opened a concrete batch plant that quickly grew from a three-truck operation to a fifteen-truck operation with three gravel trucks and three company trucks. Francisco was responsible for all phases of the business. Both companies were successful and this was an awesome time because their small businesses, the construction company, the real estate company, and the concrete ready mix company were successful. They enjoyed this success until they ran into some bad luck. A suicidal young man decided to crash into one of their concrete trucks during a concrete delivery and the young man killed himself and injured the concrete truck driver. The insurance rates for their operation increased more than they could afford to pay and maintain a payroll for the truck drivers at the same time. They had to close the concrete operation. This among other subsequent "bad luck" events led to bankruptcy. Francisco's wife filed for a divorce during this time in 2006 because he lost his wealth, he lost his money, and lost his career in the construction industry. The divorce proceedings complicated the bankruptcy; it was a pretty stressful time in his life because he lost everything and realized things about himself, and learned some things about human nature; probably more than he wanted to learn about human nature. Francisco was forced to take a hard look at himself and then decided on a new direction that he should take with his life. In 2006, he earned a Master's of Science in Construction management from Colorado State University, a Master's of Science in Management of Information Systems from Colorado Technical University, a Master's in Business Administration from Regis University.
