Amir Ibrahim is a British writer, director and cinematographer who found his passion in film at the age of 7 when he was given a video camera and decided to make short films with his brother. He self-learned filmmaking through research and found himself engaging in various films. This passion has stuck with him ever since and has resulted in him participating in various film projects outside of school. At the age of 15 he was involved in a project, which consisted of making a documentary about Church Street in London. Amirs creativity became known through word of mouth which landed him a project run by the British Film Institute and taught by the famous Lithuanian filmmaker, Jonas Mekas. He taught how to shoot with a 16mm Bolex Camera. Amir successfully created a short film, which was later screened at the BFI. Amir continues to make short films and aspires to create bigger and better films.
