Sarah Haaf (Sarah Michal Haaf) was born in Iowa City, Iowa to Mary and Daniel Haaf. She comes from Irish/German/Bohemian decent. Sarah began acting at the age of 6, sharing the stage on and off with her singer/actress mother. Her father coached her in softball until she joined her high school's Varsity team as an 8th grader. After suffering a significant back injury during her senior year volleyball season, Sarah turned down her college softball scholarship to Wheaton College in MA. She briefly attended the University of Iowa, influenced by their writing program, (the Iowa Writer's Workshop) and joined a professional theater in Iowa City. After a stint within the indie film market in Minneapolis, MN, Sarah moved to New York City, NY to further her acting studies. She studied in NYC at the New York Film Academy, then The Acting Studio, Inc., before heading to Los Angeles, California where she works in front of and behind the camera. Sarah is a published author, in both fiction and non-fiction, as well as writes for multiple magazine publications. She writes primarily for the screen. Sarah completed her directorial debut for the short film, "Open Road" in 2017. Sarah has one sibling, Stephanie Haaf. Sarah's mother married Austin Wedemeyer Sr., after the passing of Sarah's father in 2006.
