Sarah DeYong

Sarah DeYong was born (1990) and raised in Oklahoma. She spent most of her childhood in Stillwater, OK with her mother, Dr. Camille DeYong (a professor of industrial engineering at Oklahoma State University), her father Michael DeYong (a lawyer, working for Grace Living Center), and her sister, Shannon DeYong (a psychology major working toward her masters at Oklahoma State University). Sarah attended Stillwater High School (graduating in 2009) then went on to study Musical Theatre at Oklahoma City University (OCU). At school, Sarah was soprano section leader of both the OCU Chamber Choir and the OCU Chapel Choir. On stage, she was utilized for her skills as a character actress. It was at OCU that Sarah met her husband, Roman Hood (a software engineer for SportRadar). The two married in Red River, NM on Friday the 13th of June 2014. (Fun fact: Nature blessed their wedding day, which was an outdoor event, with a hail storm... The couple decided to consider it a sign of good luck!) After graduating with her Bachelor of Music (2013), Sarah worked as a voice teacher for Oklahoma City University Performing Arts Academy and Poteet Theatre and as a free-lance oil painter (painting portraits on commission) before moving with her husband to Denver in fall of 2015. After only a year in Colorado, Sarah and Roman moved to Minneapolis, MN, where Sarah took the opportunity to try acting in film (rather than on stage). Sarah fell in love with every aspect of the filming process.
