Mark R. Cheathem

Mark R. Cheathem is a professor of history at Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee. He is the author or editor of six books, including Andrew Jackson, Southerner, which won the 2013 Tennessee History Book Award. Cheathem is also the project director for The Papers of Martin Van Buren. Cheathem graduated from Cumberland University (B.A.), Middle Tennessee State University (M.A.), and Mississippi State University (Ph.D.).
