Chloe Luisa Macaraeg Cruz was born to Filipino parents in Las Piñas City, Metro Manila, Philippines. She moved to Edmonton, Canada at the age of eleven to be with her mother, Natasha. Growing up, she watched her artist grandmother paint in her studio; went with her whenever she had exhibitions thereby developing an interest in visual arts. One summer, Chloe attended a Children's Painting Workshop. Her artworks were part of an exhibition held in SM Southmall, Las Pinas City at the tender age of 7. Chloe had her first point-and-shoot camera in 2009 as a gift from her mother and started taking shots at anything that interested her. After receiving a Photography award in Junior High, she shifted her interest to film and theatre in High School. She worked on the technical side in the Property Department for Advanced Acting class. She was chosen one of two students to represent Ross Sheppard High School to compete at the 2016 and 2017 Skills Canada Regionals for TV/Video Production; with Eric Shiozaki (2016) and Davané Beauchamp (2017). Chloe and Eric took home 2nd place and that developed a stronger interest in her to pursue film.
