Ela Vasilescu is a published writer and a freelance journalist based in Florence, Italy. She started writing short stories at 16 years old and published her first book in Romanian at 25 years old. She attended the University of Letters and graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor Degree in Philology (English Major); and the University of Journalism and Communication Sciences in Bucharest, Romania (Journalism Major). In 2012 she created and developed the journalistic project, "The human behind the artist" (Interviews with artists living in Florence), a project that led to her next book in progress "Okay, you're right! A collection of life stories with Mark Abouzeid." Shortly after she became "the writing queen" of "Growing Cedars In Air" and "Finding My Lebanon" directed by Mark Abouzeid. In 2016 Ela co-produced and was the writer for the short documentary "Sculpting Harriet Tubman-The creative process."
