Award winner Al Jafree Md Yusop is a man with many hats but most probably is known as a tv/feature film writer and director. He co-wrote features Paloh (2002) and Dukun (2002) and recently wrote and directed the award winning feature Mencari Rahmat (2018, a local adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest. His foray into TV includes writing telemovies Sumbangsih (1999), Teman Malam (2002), Senandong Malam (2008), Joe & Faridah (2009), Melus vs Rajawali (as writer and director, 2015) and Tulus Ikhlas (2016). As director he has helmed Kembara Nak Dara (also as writer, 2016), Ghanim Takut Nak Azan(2018) and Evolusi Senibina (2018). His latest feature darling Mencari Rahmat won him the Kuala Lumpur Film Critics Circle award as well as garnering Best Supporting Actress award for Adibah Amin. Apart from that, Md Yusop has also won: * P. Ramlee The Musical - 2007 Boh Cameronian Awards Best Original Script. * Tulus Ikhlas - Best Telemovie Asian Television Awards 2016. * Kembara Nak Dara - Secial Jury Prize, Anugerah Tribute P. Ramlee 2016 Md Yusop also writes for the stage, often collaborating with renown Malaysian stage directors such as Adlin Aman Ramlie, Joe Hasham, Krishen Kit and Zahim AL Bakri. Md Yusop is also the founder of Komuniti Filem Titiwangsa, a collective of filmmakers & cinephiles aiming to rally film discourse in Malaysia by organizing local film screenings & discussions as well as advocating the works of local filmmakers
