Ericka de Alexander is a Mexican-British director and producer in Los Angeles. Growing up in Cuernavaca, Mexico, Ericka began exploring storytelling by making videos on YouTube and doing musical theatre. She moved to the United States at age 18 to pursue a career in film. She attended USC for the last 2 years of her undergraduate degree in TV and Film Production. During her time at USC, Ericka produced and associated produced several Graduate and Undergraduate Thesis films, some of these were official selections for film festivals such as "Austin Film Festival", "LA Shorts International Film Festival", and "San Diego International Film Festival". Aside from producing, Ericka wrote and directed "The Boy From The Lullaby" (2018), co-wrote, produced, and also directed the American-Italian dramedy, "Il Breakup" (2018), which won 1st place at the Cinema Italian Style Short Film Contest, and has most recently co-written, associate produced, and directed "The First Color" (2020), a story that explores the world and relationships of a family living with ALS, and finding true hope, which recently premiered at the LA Shorts International Film Festival Official Selection of 2020. Ericka's style focuses on exploring hope and vulnerability through magical realism and drama, with a touch of Mexican and Japanese culture. Ericka works as a Post Production Assistant on Grey's Anatomy (Season 17) and is a freelance director/producer, working on short films and music videos.
