Thomas Hamby

Thomas Hamby, who writes as D B Thomas, was born in Tennessee USA and grew up in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. He is healthy, active and physically fit. A Vietnam Era Veteran and Grandfather who is equally at home in a forest or a world capital, he is a woodsman and carpenter handy with a vesuri, the Finnish cousin of a machete married to an axe, chainsaw, hammer and tongs and various building and construction tools and equipment. He holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees primarily focused on Economics. He began his acting training in 2015 with some theater course work and progressed to film and TV acting training at Hollywood Acting Studio JAX (Jacksonville) with originally LA based Acting Coach Jill Donnellan. Of particular personal note, he has served in the military, as a political appointee and diplomat, highlights of which are doing a bit of nation building, meeting four U.S. Presidents and Stalin Confidant Andrei Gromyko AKA Mr. Nyet, dealing with a Foreign Head of State in a panic dismount from a Tennessee Walking Horse and, above all, has the distinction of being presented to Queen Elizabeth II. Interests include acting, writing, aerobic exercise complimented by pilates and yoga and travel. He has had military and diplomatic training and experience, weapons training and some previous training in a martial art. He has more than a passing acquaintance with the Finnish language and from his education, military and diplomatic background and experience in eleven different countries around the world, a pretty much life time interest in world politics. He divides his time between the USA and Finland.
