I, Scotty McCoy, was born on December 6, 1989. I am a published author, who has accomplished a lot in my young adult life. I obtained an Associate's of Applied Science Degree from Luzerne County Community College in Web/Software Development and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Champlain College in Web/Software Development, as well as a specialized technical certification in Computer Science from the South Campus of Schuylkill Technology Centers. Despite my educational accomplishments, I am not shy in learning, educating, and challenging myself in new subjects, ventures, and endeavors. I graduated in 2008 from North Schuylkill Jr./Sr. High School. I had a teacher named Mrs. Joann Hoppel for English class in 9th and 12th grades. I stated in various interviews, that because of the knowledge obtained in her classes; I retrieved the skills and confidence needed to become a successful author. I have published five books: "The Ultimate Friday the 13th Trivia Book", "The Ultimate Halloween Trivia Book", "The Ultimate Halloween Trivia Book, 2nd Edition", "Christ Defeats Cancer", and "Christ Defeats Cancer 2: The Battle Continues". I am working on a couple more book projects, including "The Ultimate Nightmare on Elm Street Trivia Book", "The Ultimate Halloween Trivia Book, 3rd Edition", and a horror-comedy on my company's movie of the same name, "Samhain". I even do philanthropy work for brain cancer and tumor research, so we can help find a cure for those suffering with such a dreaded disease, something my dad was diagnosed with in September 2016. I appeared on various radio shows, podcasts, television and web series, and in magazines and on websites as a celebrity guest to promote my career in writing and filmmaking, including on the Return to Camp Blood Radio Show, Python's Paradise (four times), Klimczak's Killer Collection, Interviews with Everyday People, the Resurrection of Zombie Radio Show, The 415 Radio Show, on WBRE-TV's PA Live television show, the Horror Fuel, Smells of Blood, and Horror Society websites, and in the December 2016 edition of Popcorn Horror magazine. I also host my own podcast titled "Slasher Scotty" where I interview guests from the horror genre about the films that they have done. Both my writing and filmmaking projects are primarily related to the horror genre. I had various book signings, including at the Whippoorwill in Frackville, Pennsylvania, at Barnes and Noble by the King of Prussia Mall, at the Bible Depot bookstore in Sunbury, Pennsylvania, at the Pioneer Tunnel during Pioneer Day in Ashland, Pennsylvania, at the Walk-In Art Center in Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania, at the Hegins Valley Faire in Hegins, Pennsylvania, at the Ashland AppleFest in Ashland, Pennsylvania, and at the Renninger's Farmer's Market in Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania. I also did a meet and greet with my fans at the Rolling Meadows Clubhouse in Lavelle, Pennsylvania. My film company, Gravestone Films, also appeared at SkookStock in Andreas, Pennsylvania and the Pop and Comic Con convention in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. I had various jobs, including a Software Database Engineer position at Computer Software Incorporated, a Senior PHP Web and Mobile Application Developer position at GINtech Systems, a supervisory role at Kmart, a cashier position at McDonald's, a Web Development and Computer Information Systems Tutor, as well as a Peer Mentoring position at Luzerne County Community College, and an online college professor in the Continuing Professional Studies (CPS) division for the Web Design and Development curriculum at Champlain College. I also was the college's curriculum coordinator for the Web Design and Development curriculum where I made changes to the courses that need to be updated and modernized. I graduated from Champlain College with a 3.88 GPA as a Summa Cum Laude (Latin Honors) graduate. I had the honor of being inducted into the Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society; the most prestigious honor society for adult students. I've endured a difficult childhood because of bullying, due to a diagnosis of Tourette's Syndrome. I've demonstrated to people faced with adversity that all things are possible if you just put your mind to it and never give up. So, if you want to do something, just work hard, focus, and put your mind to it and all your dreams can and will come true.
