Nodryn Evanci born as Kabuye Nodrine Evaci is a multi-talented Ugandan Actress and Writer with other skills like Costume Design, Make Up and Film Scoring among others, she has featured and worked on Movie Projects like Extra Time with a lead role of "Shakirah", The Office with the lead role "Brenda", The Forbidden with a supporting role "Rosette" and Mpeke Town TV Series as "Agatha" among others. At 23 years old, she's an award winning Golden Make Up Artist and Best Actress Nominee at various Festivals and Awards Competitions in Africa, Europe and USA for her artistry and performance in The Forbidden Movie which she also Co-Wrote, and The Office short film. Born and raised in Kampala, Uganda, she began her career as an actress whilst at primary school "Buganda Road Primary School" in 2005, from then she acted in so many skits and school dramas including reciting poems through her primary and secondary/high school level. After graduating from high-school, she joined the Ugandan Film Industry in 2014 where she spent the whole year studying the industry and making beginner steps in the world of film. Still in 2014 She was cast in her first film project as an amateur actress in Visual Power's "Outed - The Painful Reality" where she acted a cameo role "Receptionist", the film was premiered in 2016 and it made great success around the world in various festivals. In 2015 she got connected to another Ugandan based Production Company 'Artcamp Invenoves" where she trained for a film "Shadow" and was cast in a supporting role "Prima" which was shot in 2016, this film premiered late 2018. Through the year 2015, she had started training in make up and costuming for film. By early 2016, she was hired as a Make Up Artist and Costume Design for Ugandan based production company "Fortune Century Pictures" for its film project "Treacherous" and also featured in a cameo role "Housemaid". Through the year 2016 she acquired the skills of script and song writing including more filmmaker connections and later the same year she was hired to work for Teez Studios , A Ugandan filmmaking company where she worked on a film project "Knicker and Bra" as a Costume Designer and Make Up Artist, and also featured in a Cameo role, "Kindergarten Teacher", this film's production phase ran through December 2016 til February 2017, it's expected to be released early 2019. By 2017, she was hired by another production company "The Red Pictures" to work as a Co-Writer, Make Up Artist and Costume Designer for its production 'The Forbidden" where she also landed a supporting role 'Rosette", this film was shot through February and March 2017 and premiered in February 2018. For her artistry and performance in this film, as of October 2018, Nodryn Evanci won The Golden Make Up Artist Award, followed by getting Nominated as Golden Supporting Artist at Golden Movie Awards Africa 2018 in Ghana, Best Supporting Actor Female Indigenous nomination at ZAFAA Global Awards 2018 in UK, Best Actress nomination at African Emerging Filmmakers Awards 2018 in Durban, South Africa, Best Costume and Makeup Artist at Uganda Viewers' Choice Movie Awards. A month after finishing the Production Phase of The Forbidden Movie, she landed a lead role in Teez Studios tribute film project "Extra Time" where she was cast as "Shakira" and also worked as a co-writer, this film was shot early 2017 and premiered late 2017. By mid-2017, she was cast among the main characters in a Television and Branding commercial for Fresh Diary Uganda where she shot commercial material for the new faces and rebranding of the product, this was shot in Nairobi, Kenya. The Fresh Diary commercial currently airs on Local Television Channels in Uganda and is expected to spread allover Africa by the year 2019. Still through the end of second quarter of 2017, she was cast as a lead actress in a short film by Roadtainment Pictures titled "The Office" as "Brenda", and with her performance she was nominated as Best Actress in USA's Wide Screen Film and Music Video Festival in 2018. During the third quarter of 2017, she was cast as a supporting character "Agatha" in a Television Drama by Mediae Production Company "Mpeke Town" whose first season was shot throughout 2017, and currently airs on Urban TV and Bukedde TV in Uganda. By the last quarter of 2017, she was cast as a supporting character "Cindy" in another television drama titled "Live Your Dream" by Nabwiso Films, shot through 2017 and early 2018, this drama currently airs on NTV Uganda. In early 2018, she was hired to work as a costume designer and makeup artist at a NUHOOD FILMS short film titled "Shame Of Puberty" which premiered to a full house audience by 12th October 2018. Through the last quarter of 2018, Nodryn Evanci was hired by Reach A Hand Uganda in a collaborative sexual reproductive health themed mini-series project with Manz Media and Sasha Vybz where she was cast in a major role, its production phase ran through October and November 2018 Nodryn Evanci has attended a number of film workshops in Uganda organized by various film festivals and related institutions in the country which include; Acting, Writing, Make Up, Costume Design, Production Design, Directing, Cinematography and more, so as to acquire enough knowledge to become a better performer and storyteller through her talents and skills.
